Student Testimonials

"The professors and staff of Belmont's [Jack C. Massey] College of Business Administration are not only phenomenal teachers and mentors but are also well connected to Nashville's business community. I had always desired to work at a small, growing entrepreneurial business and they were able to connect me to a great opportunity to work and intern at Emma. Working at Emma gave me great insight into the world of business and helped reiterate my passion for entrepreneurship and growing companies. Now my dream is a reality as I'm working full time at Emma, keeping a pulse on the growth and helping them become a world class company that helps businesses communicate in style. Thank you COBA for helping me launch my career!"
Eric Carroll, Marketing and Entrepreneurship

"Last semester, I completed ISM 3620, a database design course offered under Dr. Garrison. In sixteen weeks, I learned to design, build, and generate custom reports from MS Access. I then applied my course knowledge to my current internship position at HCA. I am currently building a database for the Product Development Global Outsourcing Department. This database will streamline the automation of Executive level reports which historically took several weeks to generate.  My classroom experience at Belmont has allowed me to become a value-added to the #42 ranked 'Best Companies to Work For'.'"
Lea Latendresse, Information Systems Management

“Through the thought-provoking courses and inspiring professors at Belmont, I was prepared to embark upon my internship. Deloitte challenged me to apply the knowledge I obtained in the classroom to the real world. The vast amount of networking opportunities provided me the chance to develop great relationships with colleagues. After interning as an external auditor, I was able to conclude that this is the career I want to pursue after graduation.”
Alexa Karpinski, Accounting

“As a management major seeking to pursue a career in health care, my opportunity to intern at the Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt was invaluable. My semester-long internship allowed me to experience firsthand the administrative side of a nationally recognized pediatric hospital. As the Communications Intern at Vanderbilt, I was able to contribute to advocacy campaigns, assist in website development, and work on key marketing materials. I gained a completely different perspective on health care the following semester, as an intern at the Cumberland Pediatric Foundation & IPA. It was here where I worked directly with the implementation of a groundbreaking Tennessee state grant, and where I developed many of my long-term career goals. I would definitely say the College of Business Administration internship program has not only been professional advantageous, but also personally rewarding.”
Katie Allen, Management

“The College of Business Administration provided excellent guidance for me throughout my four years at Belmont, helping me with internships, my resume, and my job search. I spent my entire junior year interning at a brokerage firm that my finance professor helped me obtain. A year after the internship ended, Smith Barney offered me a full-time position for after graduation. I also planned a fundraising event for Coleman Construction in downtown Franklin during my senior year. Through both internships, I developed real world experience that will really help me in my future endeavors. I cherish the experience I received the past two years and highly recommend that every student participate in this service of the Career Development Center.”
Erica Scott, Finance

"As a student of the entrepreneurship program, the opportunity to receive course credits for working as an entrepreneur was the ultimate course. With the full support of the business school faculty, I was able to squeeze an entire year of real world business experience into one semester."
Sam Dryden, Co-founder of Lifetime Reel, Entrepreneurship
