Belmont’s Web Programming & Development major blends coursework in computer programming and website development with an artistic focus on design elements and interactive media to give our students an edge when pursuing careers in web development. Offered in tandem with Belmont’s Watkins College of Art and Design, students in this program have the option to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Graduates of this program are adept in the necessary skills required to create and implement a modern web site.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for Web Developers is projected to grow 8 percent by 2029. With so many organizations moving their business practices and transactions online in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, a major in web development majors has never been so marketable.

Internships in web programming and graphic design are available for Belmont Web Programming & Development majors at various companies throughout Nashville and you can find available positions through Handshake. Our alumni have gone on to work in a variety of roles maintaining internet servers and databases, developing web queries, and implementing web applications.
