Experiential design is the practice of designing products, processes, services, events, and environments with a focus placed on the quality of the user experience as well as culturally relevant solutions.

Our Approach

Belmont University’s Experiential Design BFA major focuses on human-centered design interactions. The program engages students—on both the technical and conceptual levels—through hands-on learning with individual attention from professors.

Class content includes:

  • Designer’s social responsibility
  • Designing for public spaces
  • Commercial applications for experiential design.

How it Works

The multidisciplinary Experiential Design major gives students access to numerous computer labs with the latest software and hardware, a photo lab, 3D printing printers and more. Students work closely with faculty members throughout the program—in the process acquiring core design competencies, which can be applied to branding or other traditionally print-based design mediums.

Examples of projects in the Experiential Design BFA major:

  • Interactive design
  • Projection mapping
  • App design
  • Web design
  • Augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR)
  • Other emerging technologies
